RADIO TRAP CONTROLLER
Model: RTC-12 Radio Trap Controller is designed to simplify trap setup and operation. The RTC-12 features relay contact outputs, capable of switching over 10 amps of current, with selectable "ON TIME" duration of 0.5 second or 1 seconds. The output can be selected to be Normal ON +12V or Normal OFF 0V, allowing the controller to be used with magnetic latches or the Zero Power Latch. All aluminum cabinet with pig tailed connectors for Power IN, Latch OUTPUT and AUX Input. The AUX Input is a low current monitoring input that is Enabled and Disabled from the RF remote control. Using XLR type 3 pin connectors, it also provides +12 Volts to power IR Detectors or other sensors. It can connect to a wired switch as a hand held Trap Trigger or from a pressure plate.  Remotely trigger the trap using the RFTX RF wireless transmitter. Use the Top push button to immediately trigger the trap.  a side mounted pushbutton that will toggle the AUX Input ON and OFF.

The RTC-12DN Drop Net Controller has all features of the RTC-12 but in a larger cabinet with a whip antenna. The AUX Input is mounted on the cabinet side. The larger cabinet allows for added capacitors that improve performance when used with multiple ELR-12 Latches. The typical Drop Net system will use 5 latches that are all triggered together. The RF components are made by Linx for long range and reliable communication requiring no tuning. Operating on a frequency of 433Mhz is default but by request other frequencies are available.

Drop Net
The Drop Net System gives trappers another tool for capturing. Using the Zero Power Latches to release the net, our Drop Net Trap can remain set for a longer time,  without maintenance or resetting. When batteries need replacement, the Drop Net set up is not affected.

The Drop Net Controller receives RF signals to trigger the latches, but it also features a direct wired connection jack that allows connecting any trigger device with a contact closure to be used. A momentary low current switch can be any type that makes a contact between two trigger wires. The direct jack can be enabled and disabled using the RFTX wireless remote. Use the RFTX wireless trigger while the trap is being monitored. The direct input gives trappers an option when they need to step away from the trap. Drop Net traps must always be closely watched to avoid animals injuring themselves when under the net.

In summary, this DROP NET is easy to set up and it requires less maintenance in day to day operation. Because it uses far less battery power to be ready than any other Drop Net that we have seen, it is possible to leave the trap set up for weeks instead of hours without battery changes. And when replacement is needed, the typical battery will be 7amp hour instead of much larger batteries needed to run other traps for only a day.
